A top-to-bottom renovation and repurposing of the facility that housed the former Newman Center, the 弗朗西斯一个. Wilcox Intercultural and Student Organization Center, 也被称为“威尔科克斯中心”,” offers students space for gathering, 会议, 学习或者只是单纯的放松.
3,500平方英尺的建筑, formerly the Newman 社区 Center, features a great room with a fireplace and large flat-screen TV, 演讲者, 设备齐全的厨房, 最重要的是, an outdoor patio where students can convene around the ambience of an outdoor gas fireplace. There are a number of individual 会议/study rooms as well. The $900,000 renovation was completely donor funded.

Mr. 弗朗西斯一个. Wilcox was a native of Utica and made the Mohawk Valley his home his entire life. 参加完圣. 弗朗西斯·德·赛尔斯学校, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Master of Science Degree from Cornell University.
He served in the United States Army’s Signal Corps in India during World War II. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, 优秀单位奖, 以及二战胜利勋章. 在服兵役之后, he spent nearly his entire professional career as an Electrical Engineer with the General Electric Corporation, 在尤蒂卡和锡拉丘兹.

The 威尔科特斯中心 is open 24/7 for students. The space may be reserved for student clubs/organizations or multicultural-related activities by request through PioHub (学生)或 事件管理系统 (教师/员工).
Spaces are first come, first serve. General 会议 room usage does not require reservations.
Please make note of the Meditation and All Denomination Prayer Room schedule. 限制噪音干扰, reservations in the Wilcox Lounge are not permitted during designated prayer and mediation hours.

Guidelines for Use of Spaces in the 威尔科特斯中心

- Please adhere to the schedules listed below. Spaces can be reserved but are first come, first serve.
- A portable partition is available for privacy. Please move it at your leisure, but place it back in the side of the room when done.
- Please remove your shoes when utilizing the area rug. A shoe tray is available for your convenience.
